Mechanism

Valin ist wie Isoleucin und Leucin eine verzweigtkettige, essenzielle Aminosaeure, die vorwiegend in der Muskulatur umgesetzt wird. Nach Ausdauerbelastung sinken beim Pferd die Serum-Valin-Konzentrationen und normalisieren sich verzoegert (Trottier et al. 2002, Equine Vet J Suppl, PMID 12405680). Ein Stoffwechselmodell fuer Pferde im harten Training identifizierte Valin - neben Glutamin/Glutamat, Lysin, Histidin und Phenylalanin - als potenziell limitierend unter hoher Trainingslast, mit modellierten Ergaenzungsmengen im Bereich von 20-80 g/Tag fuer ein 500-kg-Pferd (Dunstan et al. 2020, PLoS One, PMID 31899789). Das ist eine modellbasierte Hypothese, kein Wirknachweis: Kontrollierte Fuetterungsstudien, die einen Leistungs- oder Regenerationsvorteil einer isolierten Valin-Gabe beim Pferd zeigen, fehlen. In praxisueblichen Rationen ist Valin nicht limitierend - das sind Lysin, Methionin und Threonin (Mok & Urschel 2020, PMID 32164055). Eine gezielte Supplementierung ist daher nur in seltenen Sonderfaellen (sehr hohe Trainingsintensitaet, marginale Proteinqualitaet) ueberhaupt zu erwaegen.
