About Equiterna

About Equiterna and Our Methodology

Equiterna is a curated knowledge, tools and marketplace hub for horse and rider in the German-speaking region, available in five languages: German, English, Italian, Spanish and Arabic. Equiterna mediates between horse keepers and providers and sells nothing itself; contracts are made with the respective merchant or service provider. The content is editorial and educational, names its sources and does not replace a veterinary examination.

Who is behind it

The platform is operated by Neptiq Software Solutions - David Raffelsberger. The software is made by NEPTIQ.

How content is created and checked

• Sources: statements about substances name their sources, such as studies with a PubMed ID (PMID), specialist journals and the requirement recommendations GfE 2014 and NRC 2007.
• Legal classification: substance profiles state, where it has been determined, whether the substance counts as a supplementary, dietetic or complete feed or as a veterinary medicinal product (framework: Regulation (EU) 2019/6 and TAMG in Germany and Austria).
• FEI status: the FEI doping status is stated. A detection time is not a guaranteed withdrawal period.
• Healing claims: listing texts are checked automatically for prohibited healing claims. We do not promise cures.
• Tools say something about a value and put it in context with a source. They do not diagnose the animal.
• Editorial and commerce are kept apart: from disease and symptom texts we do not link directly to purchasable products, only via the editorial substance page.
• Prescription-only veterinary medicines are not offered through the marketplace.
• No page on Equiterna replaces a veterinary examination.

Mediation and commission

Payments go directly to the providers. Equiterna receives a commission that depends on the reach of the platform and ranges from 0 to 15 percent. Currently, in the build-up phase, it is 0 percent.
