Mechanism

Leitsubstanzen sind Eugenol, Carvacrol, Ursolsaeure, beta-Caryophyllen und Rosmarinsaeure (Cohen, J Ayurveda Integr Med 2014, PMID 25624701). In vitro-, Tier- und Humanstudien beschreiben antioxidative, antiinflammatorische und anti-stress/adaptogene Effekte, u. a. Normalisierung stressinduzierter Corticosteron-Anstiege im Forced-Swim-Modell. Eine mechanistische Arbeit an einem standardisierten Extrakt (HOLIXER) zeigte in vitro eine konzentrationsabhaengige Cortisol-Hemmung (ca. 49,5 % bei 100 ug/ml) und CRF1-Rezeptorantagonismus, was auf eine Modulation der HPA-Achse hindeutet (Gowda et al., PLoS One 2023, PMID 37141281). Randomisierte, placebokontrollierte Humanstudien berichten Verbesserungen von Stress-, Stimmungs- und Schlafparametern. Kontrollierte Studien beim Pferd fehlen; der Einsatz als Ergaenzungsfuttermittel ist damit traditionell/extrapoliert einzuordnen, ohne belegten therapeutischen Anspruch am Tier.

How the Equiterna Score is built

The Equiterna Score combines three dimensions into a value of 0-100: science (40%), practical experience (30%) and safety (30%). It is transparently derived from evidence level, attributed sources (PubMed/journals), legal classification and cautions.
