Mechanism

Serin wird endogen (u. a. aus 3-Phosphoglycerat) gebildet und ist Ausgangspunkt fuer Glycin, den Ein-Kohlenstoff-/Folatstoffwechsel (Nukleotid- und Methylgruppensynthese) sowie fuer Cystein/Glutathion und Phospholipide (Newman & Maddocks 2017 - Serine and one-carbon metabolism in cancer, Nat Rev Cancer, doi:10.1038/nrc.2016.81; Wu 2009, PMID 19301095). Beim Pferd zaehlt Serin nicht zu den limitierenden Aminosaeuren, ein diaetetischer Bedarf ist nicht definiert (NRC 2007). Eine gezielte Serin-Supplementierung hat beim gesunden Pferd keinen belegten Nutzen; equine Dosis-Wirkungs-Daten fehlen vollstaendig.

How the Equiterna Score is built

The Equiterna Score combines three dimensions into a value of 0-100: science (40%), practical experience (30%) and safety (30%). It is transparently derived from evidence level, attributed sources (PubMed/journals), legal classification and cautions.
