Mechanism

Proanthocyanidine (OPC) sind oligomere und polymere Verkettungen von Flavan-3-olen (Catechin/Epicatechin), u.a. aus Traubenkern und Rinde. In vitro und in Humanstudien werden radikalfangende sowie die Kapillar-/Gefaessfunktion betreffende Eigenschaften beschrieben. Kontrollierte Pferdedaten fehlen; die orale Bioverfuegbarkeit hoehermolekularer Oligomere gilt als niedrig und variabel.

In addition, the editorial safety rating caps the result: it limits the safety dimension and the overall tier (orange: at most solid). For entries rated red, no score is calculated at all. The rating never raises anything — a green rating does not lift a calculated value.
