Phenylalanin

Mechanism

Phenylalanin ist eine essenzielle aromatische Aminosaeure; ein Teil wird ueber die Phenylalanin-Hydroxylase zu Tyrosin umgewandelt, das dann als Vorstufe fuer Katecholamine, Melanin und Schilddruesenhormone dient (Mok & Urschel 2020, Asian-Australas J Anim Sci, PMID 32164055). Phenylalanin gehoert zu den mengenmaessig reichlich in Raufutter und Getreide vorkommenden Aminosaeuren und ist in normalen Rationen nicht limitierend. Ein equines Umsatzmodell nennt Phenylalanin unter hoher Trainingslast - zusammen mit Histidin, Lysin, Valin und Glutamin - als potenziell knapp, mit modellierten Zulagen im Bereich weniger 10er-Gramm/Tag (Dunstan et al. 2020, PLoS One, PMID 31899789); das ist eine Modellhypothese ohne kontrollierten Leistungsnachweis. Kontrollierte Dosis-Wirkungs-Studien zur isolierten Phenylalanin-Gabe beim Pferd fehlen, und der NRC (2007) definiert nur fuer Lysin einen zahlenmaessigen Einzelbedarf. Eine gezielte Supplementierung ist somit selten notwendig - der Bedarf wird ueber die Gesamt-Proteinversorgung gedeckt.
