Mechanism

Blätter von Steinobstgehölzen (Prunus spp. - Kirsche, Pflaume, Pfirsich, Zwetschge) enthalten cyanogene Glykoside (Prunasin/Amygdalin), aus denen besonders im welken/angetrockneten Zustand Blausäure (Cyanid) freigesetzt wird - akut toxisch für Pferde (MSD Vet Manual). Blätter von Kernobst (Apfel/Birne) gelten als weniger kritisch, sind im Gemenge aber nicht sicher abgrenzbar. Wegen des Vergiftungsrisikos ist von einer Verfütterung abzuraten.
