Mechanism

Die Wurzel enthaelt 5-10% hochmolekulare Schleimstoffe (Rhamnogalacturonan, Arabinogalactane, Glucane) neben Staerke, Pektin und Flavonoiden (EMA/HMPC-Assessment Report Althaeae radix, 2016). Diese Hydrokolloide legen sich physikalisch als Film ueber Mund-, Rachen- und oberere Magenschleimhaut und werden traditionell demulzent bei Reizhusten und Schleimhautreizung eingesetzt. In tierexperimentellen Modellen (Meerschweinchen, Katze) reduzierte isoliertes Rhamnogalacturonan reflektorisch ausgeloesten Husten signifikant (Sutovska/Nosalova et al., PMID 22372330); in-vitro zeigten Althaea-Extrakte antiinflammatorische und antioxidative Effekte an Makrophagen (Bonaterra et al., PMC7090173). Kontrollierte Studien am Pferd fehlen; die Anwendung stuetzt sich auf die traditionelle (human-)pharmakologische Datenlage und den plausiblen demulzenten Wirkmechanismus. Einordnung: Ergaenzungsfuttermittel, physiologisch schleimhautberuhigend diskutiert - keine Heilaussage am kranken Tier.

· Schleimstoffe koennen die Resorption gleichzeitig verabreichter Arzneimittel verzoegern - zeitlichen Abstand (>=1 h) halten
· als Kaltansatz zubereiten; Hitze/Kochen denaturiert die wirksamen Schleimstoffe
· keine equinen Sicherheitsdaten fuer tragende/laktierende Stuten
· kein spezifischer FEI-Verbotsstoff; pflanzliches Ergaenzungsfuttermittel dennoch vor Wettkampf deklarieren/karenzieren

How the Equiterna Score is built
