Mechanism

Kuerbiskern(-presskuchen) liefert 50-60 % Rohprotein mit hohem Glutamat- und Argininanteil, ist aber in Lysin und Threonin limitiert (Lysin-Score ~65 % des FAO/WHO-Standards; PDCAAS ~0.65-0.75) (Glew et al. 2006, PMID 16770692; Pumpkin seed proteins - potential alternative protein supplements, PMC12652233). Damit deckt es die beim Pferd erst-limitierenden Aminosaeuren Lysin/Threonin nur unzureichend (NRC 2007; Graham et al. 1994, PMID 8157522). Der praktische Wert liegt eher in Schmackhaftigkeit und Restfett (Energie, ungesaettigte Fettsaeuren) als in gezielter Aminosaeurenergaenzung. Equine Fuetterungsstudien fehlen.

  • · Restfett -> Ranzigkeitsrisiko bei Lagerung, zusaetzliche Energie einrechnen
