Mechanism

Huang Qi (Astragalus membranaceus) ist eine Wurzeldroge der Traditionellen Chinesischen Medizin. Als wichtigste Wirkstoffgruppen gelten Astragalus-Polysaccharide (APS), Flavonoide und Saponine (Astragaloside). Fuer APS ist in vitro und in vivo eine immunmodulierende Aktivitaet beschrieben - Foerderung von Makrophagen, NK-Zellen, dendritischen Zellen sowie T- und B-Lymphozyten und Induktion verschiedener Zytokine (Cho & Leung 2007, J Ethnopharmacol, PMID 17611061; Uebersicht: Zheng et al. 2020, Front Pharmacol, DOI 10.3389/fphar.2020.00349). Daraus leitet sich die traditionelle Verwendung zur Unterstuetzung der Abwehrlage ab. WICHTIGE CAUTION: als Immunstimulans ist bei Autoimmun-/immunvermittelten Erkrankungen Zurueckhaltung geboten (theoretische Verstaerkung ueberschiessender Immunantworten). EHRLICH ZUR PFERDEDATENLAGE: die Evidenz stammt fast ausschliesslich aus Zellkultur- und Nagerstudien; kontrollierte equine Studien fehlen praktisch vollstaendig. Die Anwendung beim Pferd ist Extrapolation aus TCM-Tradition und praeklinischer Forschung.
