Mechanism

Gruener Tee enthaelt einerseits Flavan-3-ole/Catechine (v. a. Epigallocatechingallat, EGCG) mit antioxidativer und in vitro entzuendungsmodulierender Aktivitaet. Andererseits enthaelt das Blatt konstitutiv Methylxanthine: getrocknetes Blatt liefert typischerweise ca. 2 % oder mehr Coffein sowie messbare Mengen Theobromin und Theophyllin (Aqel et al. 2019, Int J Anal Chem, PMID 31781222). Genau diese Methylxanthine sind der Grund fuer die FEI-Relevanz. COMPLIANCE - KRITISCH: Coffein, Theophyllin und Theobromin sind auf der FEI Equine Prohibited Substances List als Controlled Medication (Specified Substances) gefuehrt; der Coffein-Metabolit Paraxanthin ist als Banned Substance gelistet (FEI 2026 EPSL). Praktisch bedeutet das: jede relevante Aufnahme ueber Gruentee-Zusaetze kann im Turnier zu einem Positivbefund fuehren - Kentucky Equine Research fuehrt Xanthin-Alkaloide aus scheinbar natuerlichen Produkten explizit als Kontaminations-/Dopingquelle. EHRLICH ZUR PFERDEDATENLAGE: fuer einen antioxidativen Nutzen von Gruentee beim Pferd gibt es KEINE belastbaren Wirksamkeitsstudien; der potenzielle Nutzen wird von einem konkreten regulatorischen Risiko dominiert.
