Mechanism

Wirkbestimmend sind die Triterpene Asiaticosid, Madecassosid, Asiatsaeure und Madecassinsaeure. Topisch und tierexperimentell foerdern sie die Kollagensynthese und Angiogenese und modulieren Entzuendung; kontrollierte topische Studien zeigen eine verbesserte Wundheilung (Pharmaceutics-Review 2024). Neuroprotektive und antioxidative Effekte sind praeklinisch und human beschrieben. Kontrollierte Studien beim Pferd fehlen; die Evidenz stammt aus Zell-, Nager- und Humanmodellen, ueberwiegend topisch. Bei oraler Langzeit-/Hochdosisgabe existieren seltene Fallberichte von Hepatotoxizitaet. Einordnung: Ergaenzungsfuttermittel bzw. topische Tradition zur Haut-/Bindegewebspflege.
