Mechanism

Die Frucht liefert Lycium-barbarum-Polysaccharide (LBP), Zeaxanthin-Dipalmitat, Betain, Carotinoide und Flavonoide; LBP gelten als Hauptwirkstoffe mit antioxidativen, immunmodulierenden und (v.a. retinal) neuroprotektiven Effekten in Zell- und Nagermodellen (Amagase & Farnsworth 2011). Klinisch bedeutsam ist eine dokumentierte Interaktion mit Warfarin: Fallberichte beschreiben INR-Anstiege und Blutungen nach Goji-Konsum, am ehesten ueber eine Hemmung von CYP2C9 (Zhang et al. 2015, PMID 28962463; Rivera et al. 2012, Pharmacotherapy). Zu beachten ist ferner, dass Lycium-Arten Spuren von Tropanalkaloiden (u.a. Atropin) enthalten koennen - relevant, weil Atropin FEI-verboten ist. Fuer das Pferd liegen KEINE kontrollierten Studien vor; die Bewertung stuetzt sich auf Human-Fallberichte und Nagerdaten und ist damit vorlaeufig.

How the Equiterna Score is built
