Mechanism

Alnus glutinosa (Schwarzerle) ist in Rinde und Blatt reich an Diarylheptanoiden, insbesondere Oregonin, das in Extrakten stark dominieren kann, dazu Tannine und Flavonoide (New Insights on Phytochemical Features and Biological Properties of Alnus glutinosa Stem Bark, Plants 2022, PMC9570633; Oregonin-Charakterisierung und -Isolierung: PMID 27428455, Fitoterapia). Für Oregonin sind in vitro antioxidative und entzündungsmodulierende Effekte beschrieben. Kontrollierte Pferdestudien zum Erlen-Browsing fehlen; die Verwendung ist traditionsbegründet und nicht durch Pferdedaten belegt.
