Mechanism

Cellulase baut Cellulose der pflanzlichen Zellwaende ab, die das Pferd selbst nicht enzymatisch spalten kann. Diesen Faserabbau leistet physiologisch die mikrobielle Flora des Dickdarms. Zugesetzte Cellulase soll den Zellwandaufschluss ergaenzen; die Wirksamkeit oral zugefuehrter, pH- und protease-empfindlicher Enzyme im Verdauungstrakt des Pferdes ist umstritten (Fuetterungsliteratur; Futtermittel-VO 767/2009).

How the Equiterna Score is built

The rating never raises anything — a green rating does not lift a calculated value.
