Brunnenkresse

Nasturtium officinale · Watercress

Mechanism

Brunnenkresse (Nasturtium officinale) ist reich an Vitaminen (u.a. C, Carotinoide), Mineralstoffen und dem Glucosinolat Gluconasturtiin, aus dem beim Zerkauen das Isothiocyanat Phenethyl-Isothiocyanat (PEITC) entsteht. In einer randomisierten Humanstudie (85 g/Tag ueber 8 Wochen) reduzierte Brunnenkresse oxidative Lymphozyten-DNA-Schaeden und erhoehte Plasma-Lutein und -Beta-Carotin (Gill et al. 2007, Am J Clin Nutr, PMID 17284750); weitere Humandaten zeigen antioxidative und entzuendungsmodulierende Effekte (Nutrients 2021, PMC8391159). Equine Daten fehlen. Praktisch begrenzen der scharfe, schleimhautreizende Geschmack (Senfoele) Akzeptanz und Menge; wichtig ist zudem der Standort: Wildbestaende an Gewaessern koennen mit dem Grossen Leberegel (Fasciola hepatica) oder ueber die Wasserqualitaet mikrobiell belastet sein.

Cautions

  • · Senfoelglykoside sind scharf und schleimhautreizend - in groesserer Menge Akzeptanz- und Reizproblem.
  • · Standortrisiko bei Wildbestaenden: Grosser Leberegel (Fasciola hepatica) und Wasserqualitaet/Keimbelastung.
  • · Als Kreuzbluetler bei hoher Dauerzufuhr goitrogenes Potenzial (Glucosinolate).
