Mechanism

Breitwegerich (Plantago major) enthaelt Schleimpolysaccharide, Iridoidglykoside (v. a. Aucubin, Catalpol), Phenylethanoide (Plantamajosid, Acteosid) und Gerbstoffe. Die klassische ethnobotanische Uebersichtsarbeit von Samuelsen fasst traditionelle Anwendungen und die zugrunde liegenden Inhaltsstoffe mit anti-entzuendlichen, antioxidativen und antibakteriellen In-vitro-Aktivitaeten zusammen (Samuelsen 2000, J Ethnopharmacol, PMID 10904143). Ex-vivo-Experimente an Hautmodellen stuetzen die traditionelle wundheilungsfoerdernde Anwendung von Blattextrakten (2015, J Ethnopharmacol, PMID 25898918). Die Schleimstoffe wirken dabei reizmildernd auf Schleimhaeute. EHRLICH ZUR PFERDEDATENLAGE: es gibt praktisch KEINE kontrollierten equinen Studien; der Einsatz beruht auf Traditionsgebrauch als Wiesenkraut und auf In-vitro-/Ex-vivo-Daten. Aussagen bleiben auf Wirkmechanismus und traditionelle Anwendung beschraenkt, ohne Krankheitsbezug.
