Mechanism

Blue Cohosh fuehrt uterotone Saponine (Caulosaponin) und das nikotinartig wirkende Alkaloid N-Methylcytisin (veterinaer- und humantoxikologische Literatur). Beschrieben sind stark uterusstimulierende sowie teratogene und kardiotoxische Effekte. Die Pflanze gilt als toxisch und ist fuer die innerliche Anwendung ungeeignet.

· Stark uteruswirksam/oxytocisch - kontraindiziert bei tragenden Stuten
· N-Methylcytisin nikotinartig toxisch
· teratogenes und kardiotoxisches Potenzial - nicht innerlich anwenden
