Mechanism

Alpha-Amylase spaltet die alpha-1,4-glykosidischen Bindungen der Staerke zu Malzzucker und Dextrinen und soll die praecaecale (Duenndarm-)Staerkeverdauung verbessern, um Staerkeueberladung und Hindgut-Azidose zu vermeiden. In der Gefluegelfuetterung ist die Wirksamkeit von der EFSA bestaetigt (EFSA FEEDAP 2024, Ronozyme HiStarch, EFSA Journal 2024;22(7):e8846). Beim Pferd ist die Datenlage duenn: Richards et al. (2004, Anim Feed Sci Technol) fanden nach Zusatz von alpha-Amylase (plus Amyloglucosidase) zu staerkereichem Futter eine hoehere postprandiale Glykaemie als Hinweis auf verbesserte Duenndarm-Staerkeverdauung, waehrend Amyloglucosidase allein keinen Effekt hatte - das Pferd besitzt also relevante endogene Enzymkapazitaet. Belastbare Leistungs- oder Gesundheitsdaten fehlen. Evidenzstaerker als eine Enzymzulage ist die Begrenzung der Staerkemenge je Mahlzeit (Richtwert unter ~1 g Staerke/kg KM).

How the Equiterna Score is built

The Equiterna Score combines three dimensions into a value of 0-100: science (40%), practical experience (30%) and safety (30%). It is transparently derived from evidence level, attributed sources (PubMed/journals), legal classification and cautions. The FEI doping status is shown separately as a competition-law note and does not enter the score. Commissions and vendor relationships have no influence on the score. In addition, the editorial safety rating caps the result: it limits the safety dimension and the overall tier (orange: at most solid). For entries rated red, no score is calculated at all. The rating never raises anything — a green rating does not lift a calculated value.
