Alanin

Mechanism

Alanin entsteht durch Transaminierung von Pyruvat und transportiert im Glukose-Alanin-(Cahill-)Zyklus Stickstoff aus der Muskulatur zur Leber, wo es der Gluconeogenese dient (Wu 2009, PMID 19301095). Es ist nicht-essenziell und wird bedarfsgerecht selbst gebildet; beim Pferd ist Alanin nicht limitierend, ein diaetetischer Bedarf ist nicht definiert (NRC 2007; GfE 2014). Beta-Alanin (als Carnosin-Vorstufe fuer die muskulaere Pufferung) ist ein anderes Molekuel mit eigener, ebenfalls fuer Pferde nur begrenzter Datenlage und darf nicht mit L-Alanin gleichgesetzt werden. Fuer L-Alanin fehlt beim gesunden Pferd ein belegter Supplement-Nutzen.
