Meccanismo d'azione

Maisstaerke hat roh/ganz gefuettert eine niedrige praezaekale Verdaulichkeit, weil die Staerkegranula in eine Proteinmatrix eingebettet sind. Unverdaute Staerke, die den Dickdarm erreicht, wird dort rasch zu Laktat fermentiert; pH-Abfall, Laktatazidose und eine gestoerte Mikrobiota erhoehen das Risiko fuer Kolik und Hufrehe (Richards et al. 2006, Aust Vet J 84:402, PMID 17092327 - Getreidefuetterung und Dickdarmazidose beim Rennpferd). Thermischer bzw. hydrothermaler Aufschluss (Dampfflocken, Extrudieren, Micronisieren) gelatiniert die Staerke und steigert speziell bei Mais die praezaekale Staerkeverdaulichkeit deutlich (Julliand, de Fombelle & Varloud 2006 - Starch digestion in horses: the impact of feed processing, Livestock Science 100:44). Varasteh et al. 2023 (J Equine Vet Sci, DOI 10.1016/j.jevs.2023.104982) zeigten, dass micronisierter Flockenmais im Vergleich zu gemahlenem Mais hoehere postprandiale Blutglukose bewirkt und dessen In-vitro-Fermentationsrueckstaende rund 38,6 % langsamer im Dickdarm fermentieren - die Verdauung verlagert sich also in den Vorderdarm, die glykaemische Antwort steigt aber. Praxisregel: Staerke pro Mahlzeit begrenzen, aufgeschlossenen Mais fuettern, Mahlzeiten aufteilen, Raufutter zuerst.

  • · Hoher glykaemischer Index (ungeeignet fuer EMS/PSSM/Cushing/PPID)
  • · Ganzer oder roher Mais ist schlecht verdaulich
  • · Mahlzeitengroesse (Staerke/kg KG) strikt begrenzen
